Formada no início de 2002, Criaturas fez parte dos tempos áureos de Curitiba, então intitulada Capital do Rock. Com menos de um ano de estrada, o grupo ganhou atenção da mídia nacional - um pouco pela recém desatada parceria musical de Xanda Lemos com o mutante Sergio Dias, outro tanto pela participação em festivais importantes dentro e fora da cidade.
A única pretensão dos Criaturas, no entanto, era tocar músicas inéditas, compostas em português, e eventualmente interpretar algumas canções do Rei Roberto, do Kinks, The Who, Mutantes, Slade.
Depois de algum tempo e algumas mudanças de formação, hoje a banda se resume ao seu trio original: Xanda Lemos, compositora, guitarrista e vocalista; e os irmãos Caetano e Bruno Zagonel, baixista e baterista, respectivamente.
Mesmo antes da ida de Xanda e Bruno para os EUA, a banda já estava há algum tempo sem fazer shows. E a intenção do grupo é continuar existindo virtualmente - sem se apresentar ao vivo, mas continuando a compor e a produzir boas músicas.

Created at the begining of 2002, Criaturas was part of the Golden Ages of Curitiba, then called "Rock Capital City". With less than a year of activities, the band got the national media's attention - a little bit for the just undone musical partnership between Xanda Lemos and Sergio Dias of Mutantes, and also for the band's participation in major festvals both in and outside the city.
The only desire of the band, however, was playing new music composed in Portuguese and once in a while some songs of Roberto Carlos, The Kinks, The Who, Mutantes, Slade.
After a period of changing members, now the band comes to its original trio: Xanda Lemos, songwriter, singer and guitar player, and the Zagonel brothers Caetano and Bruno, bassist and drummer, respectively.
Even before Xanda and Bruno moved out to the U.S.A. the band was already out of the stages. And their intention is to continue like this: no live presentations, but still producing and composing good songs.
